Indicate Limited is a specialist transportation engineering consultancy offering a range of professional services in transportation: strategy, asset management, transportation planning and engineering, active modes and road safety. Based in Nelson but working across New Zealand we work in both the private and public sectors.
Strategy
Transport strategy and policy provide the high level direction within which transport is planned and delivered.
Our capability includes development of Regional Land Transport Plans, Asset Management Plans, Active Modes Strategies and general transport policy documents.
Asset Management
The goal of infrastructure asset management is to meet a required level of service, in the most cost effective manner, through the management of assets for present and future customers.
The key elements of infrastructure asset management that we can help with include:
- Taking a lifecycle and business case approach as required by the NZ Transport Agency to access co-investment
- Developing cost-effective management strategies for the long-term
- Providing a defined level of service and monitoring performance
- Understanding and meeting the impact of growth through demand management and infrastructure investment
- Managing risks associated with asset failures
- Sustainable use of physical resources
- Continuous improvement in asset management practices.
Transportation Planning and Engineering
In the transport panning space business case preparation is now required to access co-investment from the NZ Transport Agency. This places great focus on collaboratively working out the best way of achieving the end goal of moving people and goods from A to B safely, efficiently and economically.
At Indicate we work with a number of local and central government departments and their stakeholders to help them make sure they are getting best value for their investments, but also that the traffic and transport plans will provide safe, accessible and efficient ways to get around.
Active Modes
Active modes is a strong passion at Indicate and we have plenty of experience to back that up. Well designed streets function for traffic, but equally importantly, they should also be good places for pedestrians and cyclists, residents, kids, public transport users and businesses. Road Safety
Our extensive experience in road safety is applied to all our work, while also offering specific safety focused engineering services. Our focus is to assist in achieving the Safer Journeys strategy and promotion of a Safe System approach with emphasis on reducing high severity crashes. We can assist with:
- Safety audits of existing roads
- Safety audits of projects through all stages from feasibility to design and post-construction
- Night time and daytime safety inspections.
